Manastirea Balaciu
The monastery of Balaciu is located in the Baragan Plain, in a village called Crasanii de Sus, at approximately 20 km near Ialomita. The monastery was founded between the years 1821-1841. After the World War II, the monatery was affected by the political changes in the country and by the long drawn out drought. Because of the communist regime, the monastery was erased in 1961. In 1991 the monastery was restored and obtained the approval of the Patriarch of the Romanian Orthodox Church. Today, the community of Balaciu is leading a life of spirituality, under the guidance of its laudable abbot.Galerie foto
